First of all: health care is expensive. But it doesn't have to be. Especially for you. The Teen Health Center is right in the Marie Drake part of JDHS and completely free for you to stop in any time. They are great people and

Unfortunately, their resources do have a limit. If you need something beyond what they can give,
Denali Kid Care might be able to pay for it. They cover health insurance for anyone 18 and under or pregnant. 1-888-318-8890
Juneau Public Health Center is a free clinic for anyone to go to. They are a little building out by the
corner of Twin Lakes and the Hospital. 3412 Glacier Hwy 465-3353
If you're couch hopping or staying with friends, walk right in to the Front Street Clinic (next to Ben
Franklin, upstairs in the Miner's Mercantile Building, downtown) It is totally free. Front Street Clinic provides free medical
care to anyone homeless, including teenagers without a steady place to stay. 463-4201 For any Alaska Natives
or American Indians, SEARHC is the hospital to go to. This is free for dental, medical, nutrition counseling and mental health. If you need surgery,
they'll have to send you over to Sitka, but you're still covered. Services not provided by the Juneau clinic may be available
from another. Call 463-4040 to schedual an apointment, or be a walk-in. The SEARHC clinic is on Hospital Drive, closer
to the bottom of the hill, across from the entrance to Twin Lakes. Everybody else gets to go to Bartlett Regional Hospital for anything big. Be sure to have your Denali Kid Care coverage you because this isn't free. 586-2611 or 796-8900. Call

Depression and suicide warning signs: Neglect of personal appearance, slipping grades or missing class,
withdrawal from friends/socializing, change in eating or sleep, low self-esteem/criticizing self, avoiding home, irritable
or restless, crying, angry outbursts, increased use of alcohol or other drugs, sudden "self-destructive behavior" such as
fast driving, feeling trapped or helpless without any hope of change, talking or writing about suicide, suicide attempts,
sudden euphoria (joy) after depression, giving away belongings and cutting, just to name a few. Juneau
Alliance for Mental Health Inc. 24 hour emergency services. Juneau Alliance is geared for people with mental
health problems and offers a psychiatrist, nurse, and therapy. 463-3008 Bartlett Mental Health Outpatient
Services Bartlett offers therapy or medication management. Call to make an appointment with one of the adolescent
psychiatrists or psychologist. Eventually, there is supposed to actually be an adolescent behavioral building as part of Bartlett, but not for a few more years. 586-8498 Juneau Youth Services Juneau Youth Services

Bartlett - If you are afraid for someone's life, take them to the Bartlett Hospital Emergency room. If you think they're going to
try to kill themselves, take them to the Bartlett Hospital Emergency room. Never be afraid to call 911. If it's a question
of whether or not to make the call, do it and the operator can give you advice.

478-4444 Unfortunately, OCS has limitations on what they are able to do, particularly for teens. If you are in immediate
danger, or if you have younger siblings that are, OCS should do what they can to help, and it's important to keep OCS informed.
Cornerstone Emergency Services (JYS): Emergency shelter. This is a great resource
for runaways, homeless teens, and anyone needing a time out from family life. When you get there, they'll assess what your
immediate needs are and get you hooked in with what you need. They address mental health and substance health, and connect
you with other organizations if need be. There are lots of nice people working here. 789-7654
