Basically, you could spend hours... and days... and weeks... walking up and down the streets of Juneau going in to business after business asking for an application and being told, "I'm sorry, but we don't have any openings right now." or maybe you'll get a couple applications but nothing ever happens with them, or you don't get the job. Sound like a familiar story?

Here's what we suggest: Start off going to the Job Center (out by ACE Hardware, the DMV, and Swampy Acres) or go to a job fair. They'll help you find a job that you'll like, which fits your needs, and that you are qualified for. They'll get you lined out on what you need to do and who you need to talk to in order to get the job.

When you ask for job from someone, you'll want to be somewhat prepared.
  • Dress nicely
  • Bring your cover letter
  • Bring your resume
  • Bring your references
  • Relax but be polite and semi-formal (cater to job)
